About the teacher
Shantala
Shantala is the kirtan project of Heather and Benjy Wertheimer, operating as Wolf Cub Music out of Portland, Oregon. Their recordings and performances set ancient Sanskrit mantras within modern musical arrangements, and have brought in collaborators including cellist Jami Sieber and Grammy-winning musicians Steve Gorn and Nancy Rumbel.
Alongside their own touring, they lead multi-day immersions on sacred sound, ancient music, yoga, and meditation, and Benjy also maintains a solo career alongside their work together as Shantala.
