Mooralala Marwada

He appears here under both Bhakti and Sufism, and that is not indecision. The poets he sings are the sants, who put the divine into the mother tongue and out of the reach of the learned; the form he sings them in came north out of Sindh with the poetry of Shah Abdul Latif. In Kutch, on that old border, the two were never separate things.

He took part in the Kabir Project and sang Vari Jaun in Coke Studio in 2012, which brought him a wider audience. He sang in the Gujarati film Hellaro in 2019 and in Rashmi Rocket in 2021, and in 2025 he appeared at the Jahan-e-Khusrau world Sufi music festival in a collaboration with the kathak dancer Sanjukta Sinha.
