About the teacher

Steve Taylor

Steve Taylor is a senior lecturer in psychology at Leeds Beckett University and a former chair of the Transpersonal Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society. He has written sixteen books exploring consciousness, psychology and spiritual experience from an academic, secular perspective, including The Leap: The Psychology of Spiritual Awakening and Spiritual Science, translated into more than twenty languages.

He continues to write regularly for Psychology Today and Scientific American, teaches on Leeds Beckett's MA in Interdisciplinary Psychology, and offers a self-paced online course called The Adventure. His few confirmed near-term public talks are on a different topic (the Beatles), not his core awakening teaching.

Consciousness doesn't emerge from matter because it has always been in matter. (from Spiritual Science: Why Science Needs Spirituality to Make Sense of the World)
