The Sretensky Monastery Choir is the male choir of the Sretensky Monastery in Moscow, a house founded in 1397 and re-established as a working monastery in the mid-1990s. Its singers are trained musicians rather than monks, drawn from the conservatories and seminaries of Moscow. The choir sings the monastery's own services and has accompanied the Patriarch of Moscow at liturgies in Russia and abroad. Beside the Orthodox repertoire it also sings Russian, Ukrainian and Cossack song.
