About the teacher

Robert Svoboda

Robert Svoboda earned a degree in Ayurvedic medicine from the University of Poona in 1980, becoming the first Westerner to graduate from an Ayurvedic college and be licensed to practice in India. Between 1975 and 1983 he studied under the Aghori Vimalananda, who trained him in Ayurveda, yoga, Jyotish (Vedic astrology) and Tantra; he later chronicled this apprenticeship in his Aghora book series and wrote the widely used Prakriti: Your Ayurvedic Constitution.

He has lectured internationally on Ayurveda, Jyotish and Tantra since 1986 and has taught as adjunct faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute and Bastyr University. His current teaching runs through drsvoboda.com as recorded online course bundles and a paid "Satsanga" membership offering monthly live Q&As and a discussion group; no dated in-person events were found.

So Ayurveda is a bunch of techniques and theories and practices that have been accumulated over many centuries in a way that we think about Ayurveda. But the Ayurvidya is the Shakti that has inspired the development of Ayurveda.
