Indian-born yogi and direct disciple of Shivabalayogi Maharaj who teaches Jangama Dhyana, a meditation practice centered on prolonged mental silence.
Born Srinivasa Dikshitar in 1954 in Kolar, South India, Shri Babaji joined the ashram of his guru Shivabalayogi Maharaj at age 19 and was initiated into sannyasa five years later. After his guru's mahasamadhi in 1994 he undertook his own five-year tapas (period of intensive silent meditation), emerging in November 1999 to begin his own teaching mission; he now heads a mission with ashrams in Dehradun and Devarayasamudra, India.
He travels internationally and leads weekly online meditation and Q&A sessions alongside in-person retreats at his Indian ashrams; two meditation retreats are scheduled for October 2026, one of which is already fully booked.
