Menri Lopön Trinley Nyima Rinpoche
Menri, refounded in 1967 at Dolanji in the Indian Himalaya after the original monastery in Tsang was destroyed, is the seat of Yungdrung Bön in exile and the place where its monks are examined for the Geshe degree. Two offices stand above the rest there. The Menri Trizin is the throne holder and heads the tradition. The Lopön is its head teacher, responsible for the doctrinal curriculum and for the dialectic school where monks work their way through the sutra, tantra and Dzogchen philosophical systems. After the throne holder, the Lopön is the senior teaching authority in Bön.
Trinley Nyima Rinpoche holds that office and teaches at Menri.
