American theologian and former Catholic priest, founder of the Creation Spirituality movement and author of over 40 books including Original Blessing.
Matthew Fox holds a doctorate in spirituality from the Institut Catholique de Paris and spent decades as a Dominican priest before being dismissed from the order in the early 1990s over his Creation Spirituality teaching; he subsequently became an Episcopal priest and founded the University of Creation Spirituality in Oakland, California, leading it from 1996 to 2005.
Now in his mid-eighties, he remains active through the Matthew Fox Legacy Project, offering online lectures and Q&A sessions, recorded courses, and the monthly ritual gathering he originated called the Cosmic Mass, based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
“Mystics tend to put spirituality and experience of God before religious structures. For that reason, they often seek a common 'underground river' of wisdom that all religions share.”Matthew Fox
