About the teacher
Kabir Helminski
Kabir Helminski holds the rank of sheikh within the Mevlevi Sufi order, historically associated with Rumi and the whirling dervishes, and co-directs the Threshold Society with his wife Camille Helminski, teaching classical Sufi practice including sohbet (spiritual conversation) and dhikr to Western students.
He leads a retreat in Danville, California, in March 2026 with Camille Helminski and Sufi musician Amir Etemadzadeh, a UK retreat in August 2026, an online course called The Mysterion, and weekly sohbets.
