Founder of Inner Currents in Kansas, working with the subtle body through what she calls light: clearing and activating its structures, and guiding students toward samadhi.
She began meditating at thirteen and entered samadhi states at nineteen, after transmission from the teacher W. Brugh Joy. Her account of her own path runs earlier still: she places the realisation of the White Drop at age five, and a further realisation, of the Blue Drop, at twenty-four. The teachers she names as her own are internal ones, Upasni Maharaj, Ekajati and Saraswati, and her site notes that some take her to be an emanation of Nila Saraswati, a form of Tara. None of that is the kind of claim an outsider can check, and it is set down here as her own account rather than as fact.
The work itself is specific. She uses different kinds of light to clear and activate structures in the subtle body, gives group transmissions, and works with students on sustaining samadhi. Between 2020 and 2021 she guided a small group to the White Drop, which is the sort of thing this path measures itself by. She says her practice has come to centre increasingly on compassion.
She founded Inner Currents at twenty-nine and runs it with her husband Geoffrey Ulfa, who first activated her kundalini. They live in eastern Kansas with two young children. Inner Currents holds more than her own work: an astrologer, an acupuncturist and death doula offering Tibetan Chöd, a Zen meditation instructor and a Feldenkrais teacher all work there too.
