Pir of Sufi Ruhaniat International, teaching Sufi zikr and the Dances of Universal Peace in the lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Pir Shabda Kahn has been transmitting Sufism since 1969. He studied for 24 years as a direct disciple of North Indian classical vocalist Pandit Pran Nath, traveling and performing globally with his music teacher, and is also a disciple of the 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche, a Tibetan master. He became Pir of Sufi Ruhaniat International in 2001, a lineage tracing from Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis.
Based in Marin County, California, he directs the Jamiat Khas leader circle, oversees the SRI Board of Trustees, and serves as spiritual director for the Dances of Universal Peace worldwide. He leads regular Sufi zikr circles near his home and continues to travel internationally teaching Sufi practice.
