About the teacher

Ruth King

Ruth King founded the Mindful of Race Institute, applying mindfulness practice specifically to the understanding and healing of racial conditioning — a body of work most fully developed in her book Mindful of Race. Her teaching brings formal meditation practice into direct, unflinching inquiry into race, identity, and the conditioned patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and one another.

Through the Mindful of Race Institute and its Online Academy, Ruth offers teachings, trainings, and self-study programs that invite deeper awareness, emotional wisdom, and a more intimate understanding of how racial conditioning influences our lives and relationships. Across meditation, reflective study, and community learning, her work creates space for insight and compassion to become embodied — supporting greater clarity, courage, and freedom in how we meet ourselves and the world.

Racism is a heart disease, and it's curable.
