Nathan Brine
Nathan Brine began Daoist practice in 1997, covering temple arts, martial arts, meditation, nei gong and internal alchemy, and lived in China for several years training full-time under multiple masters while learning Mandarin. He returned to Canada for an honours degree in Asian Languages and Culture and had begun graduate study at the University of British Columbia, focused on Classical Chinese and the Daoist canon, when he left to devote himself to Daoist alchemy after meeting his teacher, Wang Liping.
He now teaches a sequential, English-accessible online curriculum of six courses moving from foundational practice through to advanced internal alchemy, and is the author of the multi-volume book series The Taoist Alchemy of Wang Liping. Alongside the online school, he leads occasional in-person intensive retreats, including one planned in the Yukon Territory, Canada, in August 2026.
