About the teacher
Mirabai Starr
Mirabai Starr is best known for her acclaimed modern translations of Christian mystics including St. John of the Cross and Teresa of Ávila, work that combines scholarly translation with a personal, often devotional voice. Her broader teaching draws on Jewish and Sufi sources as well, reflecting an explicitly interfaith approach to contemplative practice.
She leads retreats through 2026 including sessions in Bacalar, Mexico, Esalen, Siena Retreat Center and Kripalu, alongside online immersions and her Holy Lament membership programme and Mystical Memoir writing retreats.
