American poet, philosopher and spiritual writer, author of the New York Times bestseller The Book of Awakening, known for accessible, cross-tradition reflections on presence and "the art of being human."
A cancer survivor for more than three decades, Mark Nepo has spent over fifty years writing and teaching on inner life, community and spiritual awakening, drawing broadly on poetic, Buddhist, Christian, Sufi and Jewish wisdom traditions rather than one specific lineage. He has authored more than twenty books and several poetry collections; The Book of Awakening became a #1 New York Times bestseller and was notably endorsed by Oprah Winfrey.
He currently teaches through live online webinars and a multi-session Yearlong Journey program, alongside in-person workshops, retreats and book events around the United States.
“I have no answers, for no one can awaken your heart or your gifts but you, and yet we need each other as plants need the sun.”Mark Nepo
