Jim Tolles
Before turning to spiritual teaching, Jim Tolles graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Creative Writing and History and worked in politics and the tech industry. A spontaneous awakening in 2007 brought a sudden quieting of desire and restlessness, followed by an eight-year period of ego dissolution and trauma processing; he began teaching in 2010 and works experientially, explicitly distinguishing spiritual crisis from medical or psychological issues.
He currently teaches through Spiritual Awakening Process, structured around an entry-level class followed by groups, mentorship, one-on-one sessions and ongoing email exchanges.
