Ilia Delio
Delio trained first as a scientist, doing postdoctoral research on Alzheimer's disease at Johns Hopkins before entering Franciscan religious life and completing theological studies at Fordham University. Drawing on Teilhard de Chardin's vision of an evolving, converging universe, she founded the Center for Christogenesis, now the World Institute for Science, Religion and Culture (WISR), and has written over twenty books exploring the intersections of quantum physics, artificial intelligence and Christian theology.
She remains highly active, teaching at Villanova and leading talks, webinars and conferences through WISR, with a full in-person schedule through late 2026 including an educational trip to Greece and WISR's 10th-anniversary conference in Pennsylvania.
“The humanity of Jesus relates to every human person, without exception due to race, religion, language, or creed.”Ilia Delio
