American conscious-dying pioneer, known as RamDev, who founded the Living/Dying Project and has supported people with life-threatening illness for over 40 years.
Dale Borglum, known professionally as RamDev, established the Hanuman Foundation Dying Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1981 (the first residential facility in the US dedicated to conscious dying) before relocating the work to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1986 as the Living/Dying Project. His approach was shaped through close collaboration with Ram Dass (with whom he co-authored Journey of Awakening), Stephen Levine, and Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, and he is the author of How to Live So You Can Die Without Fear.
As executive director of the Living/Dying Project, he continues to lead workshops, trainings, meditations and support groups on conscious living and dying, and periodically teaches at venues such as Esalen Institute and Menla.
