Insight Meditation
Meditation teacher and co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society, known for her teaching on loving-kindness (metta) practice.
Sharon Salzberg co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in 1975 alongside Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein, and has since become one of the most widely read voices bringing metta (loving-kindness) practice to Western audiences, through books such as Lovingkindness and Real Happiness. Her teaching consistently returns to warmth and steadiness as a counterweight to self-criticism.
She keeps a full 2026 programme including the Real Happiness Challenge, workshops with InsightLA and Tergar, an Omega Institute workshop, and a Ram Dass Legacy retreat, alongside her long-running Metta Hour podcast.
