Richard Tarnas
Tarnas's The Passion of the Western Mind traces the evolution of the Western worldview from ancient Greece to postmodernity and was praised by Joseph Campbell as an unusually lucid synthesis. His later book Cosmos and Psyche, described by Stanislav Grof as "epoch-making," explores correlations between planetary cycles and patterns in human history and psyche, drawing on depth psychology (including work alongside Grof) as much as on the history of ideas.
He continues to teach and publish through the Kosmos Institute, including a nine-week online seminar titled "A Brief History of Western Thought," alongside essays, video lectures and podcast interviews on his website.
