Founder of Chan Dharma Community and a Dharma heir in the lineage of Chan Master Sheng Yen, teaching Silent Illumination practice across the US and Europe.
Rebecca Li received Dharma transmission in 2016 as a Dharma heir in the Dharma Drum lineage of Chan Master Sheng Yen, through Chan Master Simon Child of the Western Chan Fellowship. She is a sociology professor, born in Hong Kong, who began Chan practice in 1995 and has taught since 2002.
She founded Chan Dharma Community in 2017 and leads a busy annual schedule of retreats and workshops, including regular teaching at Dharma Drum Retreat Center in Pine Bush, New York, and at the Western Chan Fellowship's retreats in England. She has published two books, Allow Joy and Illumination.
