Paula Horan
Paula Horan grew up in Italy and Germany and was educated in England, going on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology and train extensively in bodywork modalities including Rolfing, Chua Ka and Reiki. On her second visit to India in 1992 she met her spiritual master, H.W.L. Poonjaji (Papaji), who gave her the name Laxmi; the encounter turned her focus from self-improvement toward Vichar (self-inquiry) and Jnana Yoga, the non-dual teachings now central to her work.
In 2000 she founded the Taosomatics Institute, a school for integrative Eastern and Western body/mind therapies, which she dissolved in 2008 to focus on Reiki and her Core Empowerment retreats. She is the author of several books, including Fierce Innocence and Exploring Reiki.
Based in the Himalayas, she offers weekly teachings to advanced students on non-dual awareness alongside periodic in-person retreats.
“Ideally, I would prefer a world without passports and borders and yet with plenty of local participation by the local people of each area.”Paula Horan
