Patrick Kearney has practised satipatthana vipassana, insight meditation, since 1977. He trained mainly in the Mahasi Sayadaw lineage, some of those years as a monk, with Sayadaw U Pandita and John Hale as his principal teachers, and also trained in Zen with Robert Aitken Roshi and Paul Maloney Roshi. Having studied early Buddhism at postgraduate level, he has taught meditation full time for more than twenty years, leading residential and online retreats in Australia and abroad.
