Parissa

This is art music and not liturgy. The radif is a body of melodic material handed from master to student, and a singer does not perform a fixed piece but makes one inside the mode, on a text that is usually a classical poem. That those poems are Sufi is what puts her on this path; the setting is the concert hall, as it is for Mahsa Vahdat.

In March 2026 she sang at Royce Hall at UCLA in a Nowruz concert presented by the Farhang Foundation, alongside the soloist Golda Zahra and the Iranshahr Orchestra.
