About the teacher

Matthew Wright

Matthew Wright trained in the Wisdom Schools of Cynthia Bourgeault and teaches for organizations such as Northeast Wisdom and The Contemplative Society, working with historical Christian contemplative sources including the Gospel of Thomas and Teilhard de Chardin's evolutionary mysticism. He is also a dervish on the Mevlevi Sufi path, formed by teachers Kabir and Camille Helminski, and writes on the intersection of Christianity and Sufism through his blog A Waking Heart.

He continues to serve as a parish priest and to lead contemplative retreats and talks for groups including The Contemplative Society and Wisdom Waypoints.

I blog about the spiritual life, Christianity and Sufism, contemplative living, and the work of keeping the heart awake.
