Jessica Walker
Jessica Walker trained as an actress in Chile and was a founding member of the experimental company Teatro del Silencio before settling in Barcelona, where she founded Laboratorio in 1999. Over three years of study the school works through what she calls dramatic body expression: a practice in which the performer integrates presence, word, body and emotion, and in which greater essence yields greater presence.
Alongside the school she leads Laboratorio Bhakti, open sessions on Monday mornings, and a school of meditation, and she gives retreats and encuentros in Spain, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and India. She also directs the company Compañía Laboratorio Teatro, whose work moves through ritual theatre into physical design, atmospheric research and collective dramaturgy.
