James Swartz
James Swartz, known to his students as Ramji, teaches traditional Advaita Vedanta through ShiningWorld, a non-profit he co-founded with Sundari Swartz and Isabella Viglietti. His approach presents Vedanta as a precise means of self-knowledge, summarized in the classical statement he often teaches from: the self alone is real, the universe is only apparently real, and the individual is not different from the self.
He is the author of several books, including The Essence of Enlightenment, which forms the basis of ShiningWorld's structured year-long course, and teaches through online courses, weekly Zoom satsangs, talks, and meditations offered worldwide.
