Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, also known as Khyentse Norbu, was born in eastern Bhutan in 1961 and was recognised at seven by Sakya Trizin as the third incarnation of the Khyentse lineage.

That lineage is deliberately non-sectarian. The first Khyentse, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, helped found the Rimé movement with Jamgon Kongtrul, and Rinpoche continues it: he counts root-masters from all four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism among his teachers.

He is also a filmmaker — The Cup, Travellers and Magicians, Hema Hema — and the author of What Makes You Not a Buddhist, Not For Happiness, The Guru Drinks Bourbon? and Living is Dying.
