About the teacher

Cassandra Vieten

Vieten is a Clinical Professor at UC San Diego's Centers for Integrative Health and Director of Research at the university's Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination. She co-chaired an American Psychological Association task force on integrating spirituality and religion into psychotherapy, and her research spans complementary health training, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and virtual reality for perspective-taking.

She speaks and writes widely, including the book Imagine That, and periodically teaches multi-day workshops at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California; her Esalen faculty page is the most reliable source for upcoming dates.

My purpose is to shift people's perspectives, so they can see new possibilities, and be kinder to themselves, others, and the planet.
