About the teacher
Bayo Akomolafe
Born in 1983 to Yoruba parents in Nigeria and partly raised in Bonn, Germany, Bayo Akomolafe holds a PhD in psychology and has taught at institutions including Covenant University (Nigeria), Schumacher College, Middlebury College and Sonoma State University; he currently lectures at Pacifica Graduate Institute and the University of Vermont. He founded The Emergence Network, a "post-activist" project, and is the author of books including These Wilds Beyond Our Fences, drawing on Yoruba cosmology, poetics and crisis theory to question conventional ideas of activism and progress.
Akomolafe currently divides his time between India and the United States. His main public offerings run online, including the recurring "We Will Dance with Mountains" postactivism course and shorter "Making Sanctuary" journeys, alongside talks hosted by third parties; no confirmed in-person 2026 dates were found, so check his offerings page before planning to attend.
