Beyond the Practice of Presence | A Direct Path Teaching
In this discourse, Amoda Maa points to a deeper recognition: presence is not something we achieve, but the ever-present openness in which all experience already appears.

Non-duality · Direct path nonduality
American teacher of nondual awakening who leads retreats and online meetings under the name Amoda Maa, offering a direct path teaching of luminous nonduality, rooted in the living heart.
Amoda Maa is a contemporary spiritual teacher and author whose teaching is rooted in what she describes as embodied, luminous nonduality, a direct recognition of our essential nature as the radiance of Being. Her work points to the freedom that is already here, inviting a deepening into presence and an awakening that is not separate from the body, heart, or ordinary realities of human life. The teaching is offered without religious dogma, in clear and contemporary language. She co-founded the nonprofit Amoda Maa Foundation with her husband, Kavi Jezzie Hockaday, to support the sharing of the teaching and its growing global community.
Amoda teaches internationally through retreats, in-person gatherings, and online offerings. Her teaching has an established presence in the Bay Area, New York, and Europe, including Amsterdam and London. A full calendar of current events is maintained at amodamaa.com/events.
