Mahsa Vahdat

Iranian singer of Persian classical music, born in 1973, who sets the mystical poets to voice: Rumi, Hafiz and the living poets of her own country. Her singing is rooted in the classical and folk traditions of Iran, and she has performed openly against the ban on solo women singers imposed there after 1979. She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and tours internationally.
