Advaita · known as Papaji

H.W.L. Poonja

Indian sage (1910–1997), born in the Punjab in what was then British India. After years of devotion to Krishna he met Ramana Maharshi in 1944, and from the 1970s until his death in Lucknow he received visitors almost daily in satsang. He sent a great many of his students out to teach, and much of the Western interest in Advaita since then runs back through those meetings.
