Meet Emil Zrihan.

Emil Zrihan

Born in Rabat in 1952, Emil Zrihan studied synagogue chant and piyyut with Rabbi Shlomo Ouanounou and serves as cantor in Ashkelon. He sings Judeo-Moroccan liturgy and the Arab-Andalusian repertoire. Piyyut is a liturgical tradition of its own, related to but distinct from Kabbalah.
