Sri M
Born in 1948 in Trivandrum (Kerala) to a Muslim family, he later became known as Sri Madhukar Nath, a disciple in the Nath yogic lineage under Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji. At nineteen he left home to study in the Himalayas for over three years before founding The Satsang Foundation, which runs the Peepal Grove School and the free Satsang Vidyalaya in Andhra Pradesh; in 2020 he received the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour, for his contribution to spirituality.
He lives in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, leads satsangs, retreats and public programmes through The Satsang Foundation, and writes a regular column for The Speaking Tree in The Times of India. In 2015–2016 he led the 7,500 km Walk of Hope pilgrimage from Kanyakumari to Kashmir promoting religious harmony.
