About the teacher
Nahko and Medicine for the People
Nahko Bear writes songs out of lived experience — his own site puts trauma and healing at the centre of the work, under the phrase he returns to, that music is medicine. He describes his own background as Native heritage alongside Filipino and Puerto Rican roots.
With his band, Medicine for the People, he tours steadily across North America and beyond, and the live shows are where most people meet the songs.
