John Churchill
Dr. John Churchill trained as a Buddhist monk at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland and spent fifteen years studying Mahamudra meditation in an Indo-Tibetan Mahayana lineage under the late Dr. Daniel P. Brown. He holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was a founding member of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute; over some 25 years he developed "Fourth Turning Planetary Dharma," a somatically-based path combining psychodynamic healing, attachment work, and meditation.
He now teaches together with Nicole Churchill through Planetary Dharma in Boulder, Colorado, offering an affordable online community membership for new students, periodic online retreats, and the two-year Cedar Cohort bodhisattva training beginning September 2026, run almost entirely online for an international sangha.
“We've been given so many gifts. And I think it's time for– turn the wheel of dharma again. Let's give it another shot.”John Churchill
