About the teacher

Igor Kufayev

Born in 1966 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Igor Kufayev trained as a classical artist at the Saint Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts and built an international art career based in London. After the death of his six-year-old daughter in a road accident in 1991, he began a serious spiritual search, learning and practicing Transcendental Meditation for years under the guidance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

He later discovered Kashmir Shaivism through the teachings of Swami Muktananda, which became central to his approach. At 36 he underwent what he describes as a radical transformation of consciousness, and began sharing teachings with those drawn to his presence. In 2015 he established the Flowing Wakefulness Sangha, renamed Vibrant Self Academy in 2024. He now resides in Mallorca and travels internationally offering immersions in what he calls Advaita Tantra, alongside books including Camatkāra: The Hidden Path and Kundalini.
