About the artist

Dhruv Sangari

His work is rooted in the dargah, the shrine tradition where qawwali is sung as devotion rather than entertainment, and much of it goes into recovering old South Asian Sufi melodies that had fallen out of use.

He founded Ektara India, a non-profit archive of Sufi and bhakti music.
