Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche

Born in 1951 in Nakchukha, Tibet, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche was recognized at eighteen months old as the seventh incarnation of the meditation master Gar Drubchen within the Drikung Kagyu lineage. He is the son of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, one of the twentieth century's foremost Dzogchen masters, and studied under his father as well as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche across the Karma Kagyu, Drikung Kagyu and Nyingma schools.

Enthroned by the Karmapa as abbot of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Kathmandu in 1976, he continues to teach there today and has founded centers for Buddhist study across Asia, Europe and North America. His books, many translated by Erik Pema Kunsang, include The Indisputable Truth and Sadness, Love, Openness.
