About the teacher

Rev. Bill McDonald

Born in San Francisco and raised in California, Oregon and Hawaii, Bill McDonald flew combat missions in Vietnam and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star and Purple Heart before a 30-year federal career; he has lived in Elk Grove, California, since 1979. He is the author of Warrior: A Spiritual Odyssey and Alchemy of a Warrior's Heart, drawing on near-death and other transformative experiences, including trips to India.

He now teaches through workshops, retreats and international talks centered on self-forgiveness and unconditional love, and has appeared on radio and TV over 800 times. A retreat at Mount Shasta, California, took place 1–5 May 2026; no further dated events with a specific venue were found on his site at time of research.
