About the teacher

Ajahn Dtun

Ajahn Dtun Thiracitto has trained and taught within the Thai Forest tradition for over four decades and now leads Wat Boonyawad, a monastery of close to fifty resident monks in Chonburi province, including a number of Western monastics. His teaching is known for its plain, unsentimental clarity: instruction on seeing dukkha directly, letting go of unwholesome mental states, and developing wisdom through sustained practice rather than theory.

He teaches primarily in Thai; a number of his talks and two of his books, This is the Path and The Way to True Happiness, are available in English translation. He does not travel or tour, teaching instead in the traditional dana-based monastic way, in person at Wat Boonyawad and through recordings shared on Dhamma talk platforms and YouTube.
