Rabbi Shefa Gold, a student of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and a teacher in the Jewish Renewal movement, develops and leads Hebrew chants based on sacred texts. She directs C-DEEP in New Mexico. Jewish Renewal chant draws on Jewish mysticism but is a contemporary practice of its own, distinct from classical Kabbalah.
